What a beautiful day and I was stuck on the inside looking out. Somedays I like to go outside on my lunch break, other days, not so much, because I can-NOT stand having to go back inside.
I enjoyed the sun on my way home from work late this afternoon.
Total Bliss.
We (B an I) did something tonight that we never do. We ordered take out sandwiches from our local little deli. It was a bit on the awesome side not having to cook, however, not so awesome to think of the fatty food I just inhaled and now have to burn more calories.
Sigh.
After our "wonderful dinner" in front of the televison, watching Restaurant Impossible we went outside and enjoyed the great out of doors for awhile.
Our animals enjoy when we are outside, especially our "dawg", Sophie. She is a dear, very loyal, "rips the roof of the sky if any male person steps on our ground whom she doesn't know" kinda dog. She is also in that ugly state of shedding her undercoat. Oh my goodness! What an impossible mess. I got out the detangle spray especially made for big white dawgs who have a messy coat. She thinks she is so "purty" when I get out the grooming products and go to work on her. She is so big, though, that she tires of the grooming process and in the end, I always give up and just take the clipper to her coat and she then looks so ugly, but she walks around as if she were a beauty queen, all proud of her new "do".
I am resolved to not give up this year and get her groomed without clipping chopping off all of her coat. I found out there is a dog wash opening in a nearby town, so I am sure I better purchase stock in their business because if I plan to have a nicely groomed dog, I will have to take her someplace for help. As large as she is, it will take a pocket full of dollars to get her beautified.
Below you will see a photo of the wonderful, Sophie - chewing on a treat. Doesn't have time to pose for a photo at this point.
I love her muchly.
Our Amish neighbors have a few horses and we have made a deal with them that they can graze their horses in our field, that way the neighbor has more grass for his equine and we don't have to trim up our pasture so often in the summer.
Yep, we ARE neighbors. No money is exchanged. :) I am sure, a very old fashioned concept for some.
The horses were in our pasture the other night so I did a "photo shoot" with my phone. Following are a few of the photos. I'm not a horse person, but I like that they are there.
Enjoy
A new colt, so very young.
I like this one. It was better in real life.
Loved how the sun kissed their necks and mamma horse's feet.
No longer interested in me and Sophie, they turned their backs and continued grazing.
The Lords is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters. He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right path for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and staff comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presense of my enemies. You annoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23
I am thankful for so much, my heart becomes overwhelmed with all I have and am able to do.
The freedom that I enjoy.
"And where you are, Lord, I am free, holiness is Christ in me."
I love that song. (Lord, I need you - Chris Tomlin)
Thankful for the space that we live in, three acres to enjoy, with a view that is immeasurable. I love where we live, just wish...I could spend my days here at home. I feel like I am on vacation every evening when I come home.
That is not all I'm thankful for but, I'm done for this evening.
I hope you have had a moment or two of comfort today at some point, something that brought you back to those green pastures of rest...and refreshment.
Blessings my dears.
